The front desk very helpful, even we're flash deal visitor, will come back again.
I arrived late (after midnight) so didn't have much contact with the staff. However, when I rang the night bell, someone came very quickly and I was in my room within a very few minutes. The grounds were clean and the pool area was clean and adequate. The room was very basic, with nothing extra. One of the chairs was broken but everything was clean. The bathroom and shower were very clean and there was a refrigerator and a microwave in the room - both in working order. The bed was quite comfortable. I slept well and was on the road again early the next morning. I believe the room was a bargain and worth the money, as I got it for a great price.
I prefer staying at places that have an all-night registration desk. However, for the price, I can't complain. Also, it is located in an area that is businesses rather than other motels, so felt somewhat isolated.
The price was right, but it primarily for those who only want a bed, and have no problem with a Spartan environment.
Get a good nights rest after a long drive after a difficult athletic event. Slept for 12 hours in a relatively quiet place. The pool was not ready but was being serviced when I was leaving. Close to I-5 right on main street of an older quiet town in Northern California (not as busy as Redding 20 miles north).
Outstanding service, needs were attended to timely, room was always picked up and cleaned, I would stay there again, very reasonable rates.
I guess I can only say location, I had buisness in Oriville, Redding, Chico and Red Bluff, If it was a chain, I may of been able to center stay. Otherwise it was not bad at all.
The M Star had no frills and is a bit dated but it was clean and comfortable. The grounds are kept up nicely and the pool was clean. There is very little road noise which made it easy to get a good nights sleep.
The window treatments and the television could use replacing.
The room price
The rooms do not have coffee pots. The toilet seat had water damage and was peeling off.
I travel to see my daughter at boarding school once per month. MStar Hotel was very economical and practical for what I needed.
There were hairs on the towels and in the shower. Otherwise, no other problems.
I liked the low price with simple but comfortable and clean room. The room had a fridge, microwave and plenty of ice available.
The man at the front desk was very nice.
It was extremely run down. I don't mind old buildings if things are kept up nicely and clean. Our sink was completely backed up and the bathroom had lots of peeling paint and looked unkept.
Price is excellent; large room; wifi; relatively quiet
No coffee or hair dryer in room
Room comfortable, and clean.
Old motel in poor condition. No tea or coffee making or ice. Refrigerator seal allowing cold air to escape, so had to wedge chair against it. Air conditioner cut out after a few hours in over 100 degree heat. Tap ran water in shower all night. Very noisy as huge party in next room causing the wall to vibrate and our bed head to move!
Sufficient for one night to sleep, quiet at night time and easy check in and out. You can get ice free too.
Closer to almost every thing, the near by Cozy Dinner is having very nice waitress to serve breakfast.
Overall - for the price I paid the value can't be beat. Located on Main St (literally) and easy to find. Excellent location in terms of fast food joints and inexpensive meals. For 2 jacksons an August week night it's better than sleeping in a tent and I get free wifi (which was crucial to me for booking and staying in touch - not disappointed - they have 2 access points and my connection was stable and fast). I stayed 1 night and decided to add an extra night - front desk gave me the same rate when I asked. Staff were fine and cordial. I checked in at midnight. Parking lot out front where I stayed (ground floor non smoking) was well lighted and quiet - looked at the back parking and it was fine and lighted - but i parked out front of my room. Free ice for drinks or cooler near the pool area (which was deceptively big on the photos but you can dip in and still get your stationary exercise). Bathroom looks clean but dated, and shower (high pressure) went well. Toilet flushes. Fridge froze my drinks and kept things cool. Tube TV has cable channels. Bed - didn't have a black light like Gordon Ramsey but white sheets looked and smelled fine. Room air conditioner hummed loud but kept me cool. I was prepared and brought my own soap and shampoo so I skipped the token toiletries - they are really token sized - but you can ask for more if you need it at the front desk. They could offer free breakfast and charge more - but they shouldn't and didn't. Starbucks is around the corner. Walmart is a mile away.
Would love for these motels to have 1 way windows, I feel like living in a basement with the windows always curtained off.
We were travelling and just needed a room for one night. The price was right and the room was clean and attractive. The closed in dressing room was an unexpected benefit. The staff was friendly and extremely helpful. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.
